What a cool, lovely and intriguing description! I’m of grand dames in silk muumuus and turbans; ferocious and inexhaustible debaters; evenings that stay light til 10 p.m; canoe trips over cold, dark water, the whoosh of wind in the pines.
This makes me realize how narrowly I label myself. Thanks for making me think harder.

I have to agree with the other comments– my “I am” statements have been so predictable, tired, ordinary, and expected… until now! [Resolves to come up with some new-and-improved, ass-kicking “I am” statements] Thanks! 🙂

I saw your comment on Life in the Boomer Lane about accents and had to laugh because I, too, have lived in the land of ribs and fried banana and peanut butter sandwiches as well as the frozen tundra of cheese curds and brats. My eastern North Carolina accent has followed me everywhere.
Your father’s advice about eating spinach to put hair on your chest is right up there with my grandmother’s admonition that I must drink the “pot liquer” from collards to “put lead in your pencil.”
Knitters and Nutters? Not sure what you do, but it sounds like fun. Is chocolate served?

I’m now wondering if I need lead put in my pencils!
Knitters and Nutters…we knit! and do nutty things. And of course there’s chocolate.

You are definitely destined to be my blogging buddy. After all, we chose the same blog style and have some similar I am statements . . . if I actually wrote them.
Welcome to my blog, now I am part of yours. 🙂

I love the descriptions you give of yourself. It inspires me to think deeper about how we come to “define” who we are!

This feeds my soul! I grew up in the South and have fond memories of all the wonderful things you listed. Except the smell of collards while they are cooking. Lord if that smell doesn’t seep into every fiber of your clothes and furniture.
I’m so glad you stopped by my blog and I look forward to seeing what you’re up to. I hope your pup is doing well. 🙂

I am snswering your comments and questions for the being re: my blog, computer, and email is messed up again. I have to call Costco tech support after I eat breakfast- it is not 1:12pm and I have not eaten, I’ll get back to all of the above when the blog is working right and i hope it cam be fixed by late afternoon if not sooner. Kit Kat’s story part tWO MIGHT HAVE GONE SOME PLACE ELSE. i WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT AND WHEN I FIND IT i’LL CHANGE PUBLISH date so tha you will not have to hunt for it. The blog has been in a pickle for about 2 weeks. Main thing is that there is a virus that needs to be erased. It is not letting me return comments via notification section. Some appear to be going through and others are just sitting there. Email is a mess as well.
Regards,
Yvonne

What an interesting way to describe oneself..how often we have wondered and wondered what to write about ourselves and remained clueless.. Yours was so natural and so spontaneous. Loved it ..
